How recommendations work here.
The site only works if you can trust it. So here's exactly how it runs.
How products are chosen
Almost everything recommended on this site is part of The Kit, equipment Isaac owns and cooks with, at home and at work. Products are chosen on their merits: how they perform, how they last, and whether they'd be bought again at full price.
Tested vs researched
Where a page says something was tested, like the buying guides, that reflects hands-on use. Where a recommendation rests on research rather than personal testing, the page says so. A full written review is marked "review"; kit items awaiting a deep review say exactly that. We never imply Isaac has used something he hasn't.
How affiliate links work
Some links on this site may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no additional cost to you. Recommendations are selected on their merits, not because of the commission available.
Right now, specifically: Amazon UK links carry Isaac's Amazon Associates tag, and as an Amazon Associate, Isaac earns from qualifying purchases. That covers the Amazon shop page, his official Amazon storefront, and the "Also on Amazon" buttons on product pages. Most other retailer links on the site are plain links that currently earn nothing, they're there because that retailer is genuinely the best place to buy the product. Where the guides advise against Amazon (premium knives, because of counterfeits), there is no Amazon button, and that won't change for a commission. If a product can't be bought anywhere reputable, we say "discontinued" rather than pointing you somewhere wrong.
Prices
Prices shown are indicative, checked against the live retailer page on 12 August 2026. Retail prices move, always confirm the price at the retailer before buying.
Paid partnerships
There are currently no paid brand partnerships on this site. If that ever changes, sponsored content will be clearly and separately disclosed on the page itself. No brand can buy an editorial verdict, not now, not later.
Spotted a problem?
If a link is broken, a price is badly stale, or you think a recommendation doesn't hold up, write in. It'll be fixed or taken down.
